This is a beautiful Handel water lily lamp. I believe Handel (The Handel Company of Meriden, Connecticut) made two sizes of this lamp motif and this is the larger, and rarer, of the two. The lamp is bronze and leaded glass, composed of a water lily-form blossom with the petals in white and striated green slag glass with a bronze and glass bud. The bronze stem rises from the center of the lily pad base. It is marked Handel in raised letters on the underside. Note the beautiful embossing on the base lily pad. The base has some minor wear as expected and has developed a nice pleasing patina over the years. Good original condition with the exception of the professionally replaced wiring. A beautiful lamp whether illuminated or not. Overall size is 20 inches tall with the diameter of the shade being 10.5 inches.
