This is a great quartered oak barrister bookcase (sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacked bookcase). Beautifully refinished and in excellent condition with a smooth even finish and color. Piece has four stacks two of which are the traditional swing door bookcase, one stack with 21 small drawers, and one stack of four larger drawers. Not all drawers are raised panel. The small drawers are interesting in that they pull out to reveal inserts which are hinged on the back. You could use the drawer either as normal storage or completely pull out to use the hinge pocket storage. Each of these drawers are 4.5 wide, 3.5 high, and 10.5 deep. The large drawers are traditional style being 15 wide, 4.75 high, and 10.5 deep. The overall size of the bookcase is 34 wide, 57.5 high, and 14 deep. I believe this unit is completely original including the brass pulls. Desirable rather rare bookcase and very functional unit.
