This is a really great piece of Americana folk art. I guess a banjo (is too short for a normal banjo---maybe something else??) once owned by a fella named TEX. He had written on the from many of his engagements or gigs. They included Sunshine Sue and Sally W G H Norfolk, VA. Texas Troubadore Ashville NC W W N C. Arizona Wranglers KNX Hollywood, Cal. Smilin Cowboys WWNC Asheville NC. Oregon Loggers K O R E Eugene Oregon and a few others. All radio stations of the time. He had written "Pearl Harbor' 1943-Feb-? which I assume was where he might have been stationed during WWII. Anyway, great piece in very nice original condition (note missing piece on rim) and patina. Instrument is about 22 inches long and the diameter of the piece is 9.5 inches. No marking I can find just Patd Appld for.
