This is a wonderful quartered oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyer's bookcase or stacked bookcase. It is a graduated type with the two bottom units taller than the two top units. Also, the piece has claw feet on the bottom rather than the normal legs. Excellent finish - smooth and even and with original glass. Unit was manufactured by Gunn Furniture Co. of Grand Rapids, Michigan. If you are familiar with Gunn bookcases they are nice because they come completely apart (back, sides, tops, shelves, etc) which makes shipping less expensive than Macey or Globe Wernicke units. Bottom two units are 32.5 wide, 12 high, 10.5 deep. Top two units are the same except 9.75 high. Overall size of the bookcase is 34 wide, 14 deep, 58.5 high. Exceptional barrister bookcase and very functional.
