This has to be the BEST carved figural Victorian pedestal ever! Sometimes called a plant stand or fern stand. Three babies on a tree trunk with grapes. The quality of the carving on this piece is exceptional. I am not sure if this is American or possibly German (Black Forest); either way I would say circa 1890s. I have taken several photos so you can see the detail workmanship. Good original finish-smooth and pleasing. There is on repair (see photo) but not really noticeable and the usual minor bumps and scraps. Overall size is 45.5 high and the top surface is 16.5 inches in diameter. You will not find another pedestal of superior quality
