Illustrated with four engraved plates including frontispiece, text within decorative engraved borders, bound in contemporary brown morocco with bevelled boards, covers with panelling in gilt and black enclosing gilt and black lettering to front cover and ornate arabesque stamped in black to back cover, spine in compartments with gilt decorations and lettering, all edges gilt, ink inscription dated 1883 to preliminary blank. Contents comprise Life of Milton, Paradise Lost, Paradise Regain’d, Samson Agonistes, Comus, L’Allegro, Il Penseroso, Lycidas, Arcades, Miscellaneous Poems, Sonnets, Psalms, Translations, Elegiarum Liber, Epigrammatum Liber, Sylvarum Liber, Italian Sonnets.
