This is a very unusual piece. A glass football with the 1932 score of the Army-Navy football game that year - Army 22 Navy 20. I believe this is a handblown piece; the pontil being on the left side (see photo). The 'laces' are applied afterward. Of special note is the piece is signed 'Webb England' in script. I assume this refers to the famous glass maker Thomas Webb & Sons of Stourbridge, England. This is a very heavy piece, in excellent condition, and would be a wonderful display for your ?????? I have no idea why this ball was created nor how many may have been made. Certainly not a common piece. I might mention the photos show 'rubs' across the surface of the piece---these are greatly exaggerated on the photos, not really noticeable on the actual piece. Overall size is 10 inches long; nearly life size.
