This is a beautiful 6 stack quartered oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a stacked bookcase or lawyer's bookcase. This really was a lawyer's bookcase as I purchased it from a law firm in northern Indiana. It had been originally purchased around 1910 and had been with them this entire time. I might mention that I have approximately 12 of these six stack units. Excellent original finish and glass--no repairs at all with just the minor wear of 100 years. This is a Macey unit, one of Globe Wernicke competitors. Very pretty unit with substantial size and beautiful condition - note pretty beading along the top sculptured crest. Overall size is 34 wide, 10 deep, 88 high (7 feet 4 inches).
