A beautiful marble bust of a young girl, probably Italian, of grey veined and white marble. This is an enchanting piece of late Victorian art. The bust depicts a young girl in peasant attire and wearing a kerchief. Note the detailed work around the collar of the maiden, both front and back. Excellent condition with just very slight roughness to the back ridge. Overall size is 17.25 high x 10 wide. Beautiful marble selection and a beautiful carving of the subject.
