I love to sell antique oak office furniture but it has been a long time since I have had an oak flat top (or executive style) desk. They are difficult to locate because of the advent of the computer. The computer made rolltop desks less popular and flat top desks more popular. This is a quarter sawn oak desk with a waterfall front and paper rail around. Professionally restored and in excellent condition. The leather top (real leather) has been replaced in a very professional manner. This desk was part of the antique collection from The First National Bank of Fremont MI. Many fine antiques from this bank. I doubt the paper rail is original on this desk but the color and patina are identical so I am not sure--regardless, it is very pretty and functional. Note that the piece has eight drawers with ornate brass pulls (including the center) with the bottom left drawer being double high to accommodate filing folders. Both sides have pullouts with leather surfaces. Both the sides and privacy panel are beautifully paneled. Overall size is 60 wide, 36 deep, and 30 high (at writing surface). Top is removable for shipping and moving. Circa 1900. This desk is ready for your office or home---nothing needs to be done to it!
