Baseball great Charles Albert Chief Bender (elected to the Hall of Fame in 1953) inscribed game used baseball, circa 1912. Toned red and blue stitched B.Johnson American League baseball (faded stampings) used in a 13 inning game played between the Phila. Athletics and New York Yankees. Inscribed on a side panel by Bender in black fountain pen, "Yankees-4 Athletics-5 13 Innings April 25, 1912". Bender pitched against Yankees pitcher Russ Ford at Hilltop Park in New York. Includes letter of provenance from the family. Bender played for Connie Mack and ended his career with a win-loss record of 212-127. A very rare and desirable piece of baseball memorabilia!
