This is a wonderful turn of the century office piece. Not really a bookcase, not really a file cabinet, not really a storage unit. Manufactured in the style of a barrister bookcase, lawyers bookcase, or stacking bookcase by the Weis Company of Monroe, Michigan. I have had pieces by this company before and they are always of high quality. This piece has been professionally restored and is in excellent condition with a very smooth and even finish. Top portion is a bookcase type with a door which pulls out and slides into the top. Bottom portion is two sliding doors with adjustable shelves inside. Extremely nice quartered oak used in the piece with a stepback design which can be used as a work shelf. Will 'break down' into parts so small enough to ship UPS. Even the metal plate from the original retailer remains 'The Franklin Toledo Ohio Office Outfitters Stationary & Printers'. Overall size is 34 wide, 24 deep, 58.5 high.
