An exceptional and interesting Victorian carved wood and polychrome hobby horse, circa 1890. Carved and painted features with glass eyes, oil cloth and mohair saddle and horse hair tail. Piece has the original scroll decorated polychrome base and iron horse shoes on rear feet. Horse with early white paint - some minor losses. Structure of the face and head is especially well done. Height 35 inches.
